Tip of the Month -- SEPTEMBER 2005 -- Look At Yourself! from Dave Debol (email Dave) When learning how to take a wristshot, slapshot, or backhand shot, the best way to practice is at home in front of a mirror. Every hockey player that takes private lessons from me gets the same bit of advice at the end of the lesson. If you want to get better, practice your “technique” five minutes a day in front of a mirror. When you watch yourself, you can see right away what you are doing right or what you are doing wrong.
Many times players don’t realize that they are doing something wrong. Put them in front of a mirror and they can see for themselves what they are doing wrong and they can correct themselves. REMEMBER….’LOOK AT YOURSELF’ (If you don’t like what you see, change it!!!!!)
