Tip of the Month -- MARCH 2005 -- Stickhandling Secrets to Success

from Dave Debol (email Dave)

Follow these steps to stickhandling success from Dave.

  1. Hands should be shoulder width apart or a little closer.
    If your hands are too wide, your head will be down.
  2. Your top hand does all the work. Use your bottom hand to slide up and down the shaft and to guide the stick.
  3. Keep your top hand and elbows away from your body. Roll your top hand to "feel" the puck on the blade.
  4. REMEMBER THESE THREE RULES;
    - hands shoulder width apart
    - chest up
    - knees bent
