Tip of the Month -- NOVEMBER, 2004 -- Training with Attitude

from Darryl Nelson (email Darryl)

Enter the weight room with the right attitude. You are there to train, to attain set objectives in an organized and planned manner. Write down your training and keep records of sets, reps, and weights. Don’t go into the weight room to “get in a workout” or “break a sweat”. You get out of weight training what you put into it. No headphones, they are a distraction. No gloves, they are for planting flowers. No weight belts, they cause back problems.

“Body and Spirit I surrendered whole to harsh instructors - and received a soul.”
-Ruddyard Kipling, “The Wonder,” Epitaphs, 1919
